The art of Arabian carpentry

Wood pieces have been played an essential role in Islamic architecture. It was one of the essential & magical elements in all designs. However, it was not only designed to work for an important functional role as closing the wholes and doors, but also it goes beyond all that to become a main forming element in walls, frontages in addition to the internal sections(partitions), oriels and mosque pulpits. These only clear examples of woodworking role in any Arabian style work origin.


Regarding this artistic role, designers create these masterpieces in a shape which made it unique and utmost glamorous. Carpentry became an independent art as it requires special manufacturing skills of accuracy and complexity. It was distinguished among the other arts with its highly need for handcrafts working which made the art owners a rare coin in all the time and only limited on few families who inherit it with its secrecy.

The abozed family is one of pioneer families in this field. The Hajj Saied is the forth generation of this deep-rooted family. He was inherited his family exceptional experiences & he added a lot more whether it was from different sources or from God gift to him. He is so keen to revive this art to match the modern life requirements. He did not only stand in the mere manufacturing stage but also is working on modernizing the Arabian carpentry art & recording it by his son Engineer Wael Abozed, the 5th generation of the same family who seized his educational background in Faculty of Applied Arts to get benefit of computer usage in both purposes. 

Hajj Saied Abozed Factory is located in the most important historical city in Cairo, Citadel city where the monuments of Egyptian Islamic history cover the carpentry work with wonderful history scent.

About more than 40 years, Hajj Saied Abozed has been produced an unlimited number of pulpits, oriels, wooden separators(Partitions) and sign boards for a lot of mosques, churches, villas and palaces inside and outside Egypt. In development field, he used all types of Arabian carpentry arts to produce a unique pieces & forms of furniture and corporations which serve all modern purposes of Halls whether it was for living or managerial working.
